If you’ve been following my blog, you know that this weekend I attended my first Bridal Show as a vendor! It was at the Franklin Hotel for their annual Bridal Boutique. This was an invite-only event for vendors, so it was an honor to have been chosen to participate.
The Franklin Hotel is a really unique boutique hotel in downtown Chapel Hill. I can attest for their quality because my husband and I stayed there on our wedding night! We had a great experience! I’d definitely recommend it as a place for you and your wedding party to stay during your celebrations.
So, what did I have at my booth? As you may remember, I was invited very last minute, so everything was put together in just a few days!
In addition to my business cards, I had the lovely postcards that I mentioned in my previous post to hand out to brides.
I also had a sign with my logo printed on a matte vinyl. I wasn’t sure exactly how I would hang it (and I didn’t have time to frame it), so I chose vinyl because of its fabric-like qualities. I decided that I could sew some vintage lace to the sign. Then, I was able to pin it to the table cloth through the lace, without marring the sign itself.
I also had a few of my favorite books full of design inspiration, and a laptop with a slideshow featuring my favorite portfolio photos.
A big thanks to Katie and Leah for allowing me to use their actual wedding dresses in my display. People really loved being able to see the dresses up close and personal!
Here’s a few shots of the whole booth:
Unfortunately, there was a very low turn out at the event. The weather has been beautiful and spring-like all winter this year in North Carolina. Yet, the day of the bridal show we had a wintry mix including our first SNOW! I don’t blame most of the brides for deciding to stay home in their pajamas on this snowy Sunday!
But it’s about quality over quantity, right? The people I did meet were just lovely and I was happy to be able to spend quality time with them, rather than being overwhelmed with my first show.
All in all, participating in this year’s Franklin Hotel Bridal Boutique was a good experience that I would call a success!
