Pretty Inside and Out

I truly feel that a garment should look just as pretty on the inside as it does on the outside.  I also learned this while working in theatre.  I wouldn’t dare send Bernadette Peters out in something that wasn’t top notch on the inside, even if she was the only one who ever saw it.  The same is true for brides (or anyone for that matter).  The inside is what is next to you and what you will see as you are getting ready!  I love for there to be little surprises hidden inside to make the wearer smile and feel her best. It’s also fun for others to discover, if it is kept as an heirloom.

All my garments are fully lined and in Leah’s case, I added lace and an embroidery stitch to the lining’s bindings and hem.  I leave skirt linings loose attaching them with swing tacks (thread chains).  Along with the countless other hand details, my dress hems are usually done with a cross-stitch by hand.
